As an artist and tutor my work focuses on natural processes that have transformative properties. Since 2007 I have been working with wool and feltmaking – producing art pieces and accessories both 2D and 3D, teaching the many techniques that this wonderful material allows, plus giving talks, demonstrations and, in 2021, launching online feltmaking courses and YouTube videos. I have experience working with groups of different types and ages, within a variety of settings.
To feed my ‘inner creative’ I also make cyanotype botanical art prints – a photographic process that uses actual plants laid onto a light sensitive base with sunlight used to expose the print. I work onto both textiles and art paper using different methods to manipulate the final outcome.
I also creative mixed media pieces, predominately using textiles which is my first love when it comes to material choice!
I am passionate about sharing skills and the benefits of engaging in creative activity- it provides time to breathe, recharge, reset and opportunities to share with others.
“I particularly love helping others to explore the sustainable and transformative properties that make wool such a rich material with which to work. During my workshops you can create something unique and beautiful to take home, whilst learning techniques and having a fun, refreshing day out.”
